Cassandra | Director, Trainer & Behaviourist

Cassandra is the owner of Fur Get Me Not. Fur Get Me Not is a modern pet care and dog training service driven by a commitment to positivity, quality, transparency, and service like none other. Cassandra’s non-canine professional background was working in executive positions in the not-for-profit sector. Now she happily works every day to improve the lives of the local canine community. She has a special interest is in the area of anxiety and reactivity.

Cassandra is a member of the Australian Counselling Association has also been on the Board of the Pet Professional Guild Australia and has been certified as a professional trainer by the Pet Professional Guild, Pet Loss Grief Counselling Trained Professional and Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Cassandra is also a Supporting Member with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Cassandra has also been on Bondi Vet as a behaviour specialist and won the quality business awards for best rated dog trainer.

Cassandra has welcomed German shepherds, Mastiffs, Silky terriers, Rhodesian ridgebacks, Whippets and Greyhounds into her family. She currently lives with a Bichon named Millie, Prince the Shih Tzu but recently lost her soulmate, Shimmy, who was a German Shepherd cross and the inspiration for Fur Get Me Not.

Cassandra is always continuing her studies and professional development. She regularly travels the country to ensure she brings the most current and effective training methods to her team and clients. Not only doing further training and education in dog training and behaviour but has a keen interest in Behavioural medicine. She is committed to modern positive reinforcement-based training only and believes this is the only effective method to get a well mannered, happy and resilent dog. Cassandra regularly collaborates with Behavioural Vets and Veterinarians to enhance her knowledge and skills in supporting dogs with mental health issues.

She has an graduate certificate in counselling, advanced certificate in canine reactive behaviour, certificate in canine anxiety, Fear free certification, studies in canine coaching and certificate IV in training and assessment and certificate IV in mental health. Not only is Cassandra passionate about improving the wellbeing of all animals, but also assisting people to build the kind of relationship that she has with Shimmy.
