Do I require obedience training or a behaviour assessment for my dog?
Private training or obedience sessions are geared towards instructing your dog on a particular skill or behaviour, such as walking on a loose leash, avoiding jumping on visitors, or responding to recall commands. However, they do not entail an extensive evaluation. Therefore, if your dog is experiencing any concerns that are more of a behavioural nature, such as barking, aggression, reactivity, anxiety, or fear-based behaviours, it is advisable to book a behavioural assessment or package. This ensures that you receive the appropriate level of evaluation and support for achieving success in altering your dog’s behaviour. Without a thorough assessment, we cannot effectively train a dog that is nervous, fearful, or stressed, except in the first 30 days after adoption, when we can offer basic advice during the free session.
